Bridging Research and Practice

Corporate responsibility at the heart of strategic and operational development

A DESIRE TO BUILD MORE PROFOUND EXPERTICE

Sharing Reflections

At this stage of life, now in my forties, I have come to realize that simply expanding my skills no longer serves me as it once did. Instead, I have identified a certain lack of depth in my existing expertise. This awareness of the limits of my capabilities led me to seek engagement with the academic world alongside my professional career. I believe that undertaking a doctoral dissertation will provide the depth required to examine complex phenomena beyond their surface.

In addition to my full-time job, I am working on my doctoral dissertation in the forest industry, where I also get to be at the heart of sustainability work in a very concrete way. I believe that it also brings a certain depth to my research, as it enables me to reflect academic knowledge directly against practice and to recognize patterns and dynamics that might otherwise remain obscured.

I believe that the role of scientific knowledge—and particularly the ability to interpret and apply it—will become increasingly central to both strategic and operational decision-making, especially in the field of corporate responsibility. On the “Reflections” page, I share thoughts and observations on phenomena I engage with as part of my personal and professional development in thinking.

About me

My first profession was in personal styling, and I have a deep affinity for the visual—especially for color, which continues to fascinate me. Style, fashion and art, particularly visual arts, are close to my heart, alongside family and friends. Reading and writing help me organize my thoughts, while physical activity provides a welcome balance to cognitive work.

Professionally, I work full-time in the forest industry, specializing in corporate responsibility. I have experience in management systems as well as a range of sustainability governance instruments—from EU regulation and related sustainability reporting to market-driven certification schemes.
