At this stage of life, now in my forties, I have come to realize that simply expanding my skills no longer serves me as it once did. Instead, I have identified a certain lack of depth in my existing expertise. This awareness of the limits of my capabilities led me to seek engagement with the academic world alongside my professional career. I believe that undertaking a doctoral dissertation will provide the depth required to examine complex phenomena beyond their surface.

In addition to my full-time job, I am working on my doctoral dissertation in the forest industry, where I also get to be at the heart of sustainability work in a very concrete way. I believe that it also brings a certain depth to my research, as it enables me to reflect academic knowledge directly against practice and to recognize patterns and dynamics that might otherwise remain obscured.

I believe that the role of scientific knowledge—and particularly the ability to interpret and apply it—will become increasingly central to both strategic and operational decision-making, especially in the field of corporate responsibility.
